Which are you feeding?

I recorded this short video for my weekly email subscribers* in response to a client's request for guidance on how to get better compliance.

She is the global HR Director of a large pharmaceutical organisation, and is experiencing teething problems with a new culture change program, especially around compliance with newly defined ways of working.

The two things most important, the key takeaways, in this video are that understanding doesn't ensure compliance: there are plenty of things we understand, that don't necessarily translate into active behaviours: how to lose weight; how to make healthy routines like running or walking more; how to learn new skills; how to achieve set goals etc - and that we'll see more of the behaviours we consciously (or indeed unknowingly) feed.

Focus more time and effort on recognising, rewarding, and reinforcing the efforts in the right direction towards where you want behaviours to be, and less time focusing on the things you don’t want.

I hope you find it a useful reminder.
